Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp instant coffee or brewed espresso
  • 1 tsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup water (for jelly)
  • 1/2 tsp unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 tsp condensed milk or syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes

  • Make the Coffee Jelly
    In a small saucepan, dissolve the gelatin in 1/2 cup of hot water. Stir in the instant coffee and sugar until fully combined. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and refrigerate for 1-2 hours, or until set.

  • Cut the Jelly into Cubes
    Once firm, cut the coffee jelly into small cubes (1/2 inch). These will be the chewy, boba-like surprise in your drink.

  • Prepare the Drink Base
    In a glass, mix the milk with the condensed milk or syrup if using. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and slightly sweet.
  • Assemble the Drink
    Add a handful of ice cubes to the glass. Gently layer the coffee jelly cubes on top of the ice, then pour the milk mixture over everything.
  • Serve and Enjoy
    Give it a gentle stir and serve with a wide straw or a long spoon for scooping the jelly. Best enjoyed cold!
